1st Day (08/01/2009)
Journey: Sydney Domestic Airport -> Port Arthur -> Eaglehawk Neck -> Hobart
1st stop: Sydney Domestic Airport
Important notes:
- Never takes photos inside an airport, otherwise security guides out of nowhere will pop up and delete the photos you have taken so far
- That's what happened to me
2nd stop: Port Arthur
Arrived at the airport and collected the booked car for hire, it's a Subaru Forester. 'Google' it if you don't know what it's like~ Drove down to Port Arthur with a little bit of speeding (don't we all love country highway? 120km/h straight with no speeding camera!) Took around an hour drive to the Port, made it in time for the noon time guide-tour, followed are some pics taken during the tour:
Above pics: Wide-angle and close-up shots on the main prison building
Above pic: The old church inside the Port Arthur Historical site
Above pics: On the left, a perspective shot of the pathway to the court hosue and the stands in the court house on the right
A clip from HKTVB travelling program on Port Arthur
3rd stop: Eaglehawk Neck
On the way back to hobart, is the Eaglehawk Neck, used to be the quarantine line for Port Arthur Prison. Also, there are a few look-outs around this region. Some natural cliffs are worthing while e.g. the Tasman Arch, Devil's Kitchen.
Left pics: Devil's Arch, casue by sea erosion. Looks awesome, but don't ask me how it's form...I didn't understand a bit on the info board back over there
Right pics: View from the Pirate Bay Lookout in Eaglehawk Neck
4th stop: Hobart
The last stop of the 1st day in the Tasmania trip, Hobart~ A city full of fresh and delicious seafood and heaps of fun stuff going on around here.
